Welcome to May's Newsletter. There is so much happening in the world of SAP HCM that I am struggling to fit it all in.

 

The most exciting news is that ROC has launched tHRive, a Global SAP HR On Demand Solution. With 30 years of SAP at its core, our Global HR Framework underpinning the processes, Usability Enhancements based on the latest SAP Portal functionality as well as Executive Dashboards it is no wonder that interest is so high. Global compliance is now available - as a service!

 

With many organizations still very focused on costs, tHRive is a great way to minimize capital expenditure and ensure a rapid payback. The newsletter contains more information on tHRive

 

What else…?  Well, we have a recording of a great webcast we ran a few weeks ago about implementing Job & Competency Frameworks in SAP. Many organizations are starting to think longer term now and Succession Management is moving up the HR agenda. The immediate challenge this creates for many organizations is getting to grips with skills and competencies of their people and then automating the tracking and progression of these. There is also a white paper on payroll reconciliation and a case study on technology improvement roadmaps that we think makes interesting reading

A Roadmap for Success

 

The BBC needed to improve and optimize the processes between itself and its outsourced HR delivery partner. But it faced a number of challenges

in understanding which improvements to prioritize and which route to take. The BBC requested ROC to help them develop their roadmap focusing primarily on the 18 month horizon while also looking at the longer term. ROC’s experience is that a technology roadmap on its own does not tend to serve an organization sufficiently well. The technology is merely a set of tools to be used. If the tools are not introduced effectively with accompanying process change and within an effective governance regime, the organization will be unlikely to reap the full benefits.

New Win: Weidmann Electrical Technology Inc

 

Weidmann Electrical Technology Inc. faced the following problem: they needed to replace/upgrade their existing Payroll system, they wanted to integrate their three North American businesses (US, Canada and Mexico) and they were facing a global roll-out of SAP. Thomas Meis – Head of Workforce Analytics at ROC

 

Thomas Meis started with ROC on April 1st, 2009 as Managing Consultant for HR Analytics and Business Intelligence. From 1996 to 2000 he studied Business Administration at the University of Siegen in Germany, with a focus on HR and Marketing. Before joining ROC he worked as a consultant at PWC and Accenture HMCS (formerly Pecaso). Thomas has extensive experience of global HR projects taking responsibility for the design and implementation of complex SAP Business Intelligence Solutions. Thomas is quite often asked why on earth he likes to deal with such “dry” subjects such as key performance indicators, benchmarks and statistics...

We noticed recently  that SAP has extended its sustainability solution offerings by announcing its intention to acquire TechniData AG, the world’s leading provider of product safety and environmental, health and safety (EHS) solutions.
