Many organisations are increasing productivity and geographic reach by conducting more and more of their Human Capital Management (HCM) activities online, improving efficiency, effectiveness and usability. Often your business demands that you react to your employees needs faster and more accurately, alongside this pressure Government and regulatory bodies mandates are requiring demonstrable audit trails for certain processes.

There are many thousands of organisations that have now implemented SAP Organisation Management. On face value, this module of SAP looks straightforward. There is relatively little configuration required, and as such, a live organisation model can be operational in a short time period. However, have they achieved the full benefits that this module offers? We have visited a number of customers recently that are struggling to get the most from their investment in SAP, and all seem to have the same common denominator – the SAP OM module has been implemented without the same rigour as other areas, and also has not been kept up to date once it has been deployed.
SAP TVN
Following on from the success of the Org Chart and Org Modeller packaged solution, ROC has now extended this approach to encompass Succession Planning. For more information please contact ROC.

Hampshire County Council improves the accuracy of its Organisational Management data with SAP TVN.
As such a large employer, it was imperative that Hampshire County Council had an accurate and up-to-date system for monitoring the organisational structure of its workforce.
Hampshire County Council wanted to build on the accuracy of its organisational management (OM) so that staff and management would be able to raise workflow queries with HR and easily review the accurate organisational structure.
Trevor Stabb, HR Business Development and Support Manager, Hampshire County Council said, “Without a clear view of the organisational structure, approving holidays and overtime can be difficult for management and when it affects staff and the council financially, accuracy is paramount.”

The goal was to allow Ferro visibility to their entire employee population via a single system of record.
Ferro is a leading global producer of technology-based performance materials for manufacturers. Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Ferro has operations in 23 countries. They sell products in more than 100 countries around the world.
The lack of a single system of record for all employees worldwide resulted in several issues, such as: limited visibility into global employee data, inaccurate global headcount data and highly manual operations with inaccuracies and long cycle times.
In addition, Ferro was working with a previous install of SAP 4.6c that was not rolled out globally. The decision to upgrade the HCM system to SAP 6.0 was made to accomplish two goals.
