It’s the time of year when corporate blogs are filled with a recap of the months gone by and predictions for next year. Here at ROC, we’re going to buck the trend; whilst we will be talking a little bit about the past year, we won’t be making any predictions. Instead, we will tell you about something that is definitely happening.
First, the year gone by: 2017 was a hugely significant year for us as we became part of the Zalaris family. As Jerry Chilvers, ROC’s CEO, said at the time, the acquisition makes sense because “We share a passion for helping organisations get the very best out of their HCM solutions and it really is a coming together of like-minded people and cultures.”
Being part of Zalaris means our customers have access to a greater breadth of knowledge and depth of expertise, in more countries across Europe. Our portfolio now extends from consulting, systems integration and cloud-based delivery through to full HCM business process outsourcing.
That’s the bit about last year. As with the nature of these acquisitions, once the announcement has been made the two businesses need to come together and integrate. More is coming on the benefits to our customers and what it means for the future. For now, however, we’d like to share our first big bit of news post acquisition: from January 2018, ROC UK will be known as Zalaris UK and Ireland. Jerry Chilvers will be Managing Director, Zalaris UK&I, and the existing UK team, that our customers know and trust, will continue to support them in their HCM requirements.
Why the name change? If we’re to be serious about offering our customers a deeper service, it’s important that they enjoy consistency, no matter where they are or who they are dealing with. Zalaris has a significant foothold in the European SAP and SuccessFactors based market, and we must make sure our customers can benefit from that completely. Taking our new owner’s name (as well as it’s blue branding) now cements our part in the Zalaris family.
What can our customers expect from Zalaris UK and Ireland? Aside from the extended range of services delivered by the team they know and trust, as detailed above, we’ll also be offering a uniquely Norwegian take on the business of leading your human capital. The “Scandi” way of life is often held up as an exemplary approach; with Norway being the happiest country in the world. We’re excited to be applying that to helping our customers get the best from their employees.
